At Creative Granite & Design, we’re proud to not only offer clients a huge selection of stone countertops like granite, quartz and marble, but also to offer comprehensive installation services from our award-winning team. We have five installation crews throughout Utah, plus parts of Idaho and Wyoming, and we utilize state-of-the-art machinery to both fabricate and install your countertops in beautiful, long-lasting ways.
Even if you’ll be leaving all the technical details of your installation to our professional teams, you’ll still have some significant involvement in this process as we move through the planning and design phases and eventually to installation day. In this two-part blog series, we’ll go over the general steps our team will take you through leading up to countertop installation from our staff.
Initial Planning
Well before any countertop installation takes place, there will be some significant planning that happens. Our team will work with you to determine the specific needs and wants you have for your countertops, as well as get an idea of your timeline and budget. We want to make sure that each step in the installation process is catered specifically to you, so it’s important that we have a good sense of what you’re looking for as you head into this initial consultation with our team.
Budgeting
One of the key parts of your planning process involves budgeting for your new countertops. Stone countertops can be a great investment, and our team at Creative Granite & Design will work to find the best option for your specific needs while staying within your budget. We’ll work with you to figure out what type of stone you want, how large your countertops need to be, and any other factors that will influence the overall cost involved.
General Measurements
Another major part of the planning process will involve our team measuring for various aspects of your countertops installation. They’ll need to measure the space where your countertops will go, as well as take into account the type of cabinets you have and how much space is available between them and the ceiling or other upper cabinets.
This information will help us in the design phase to create a template for your new countertops that will be the ideal size and shape for your space. We’ll also take into account the depth of your cabinets to ensure that our installation team can get into all the nooks and crannies of your space with ease, as well as account for any uneven or rough surfaces that need to be worked around during the installation process.
Other Considerations
While measuring your space, we’ll also account for themes like attached plumbing, electrical connections, and gas lines that might be in the way or need to be considered during installation. We want to make sure that everything is accounted for so that your countertops are installed seamlessly and without any major problems.
